Your Questions Answered
01. How much will this cost?
This is always my first questions when I look into a service provider, and I really do understand how frustrating it is to not be able to find a clear answer. You deserve at least a ballpark. For an online business that needs minimal print files (in other words, you won’t need signs, posters, bags, packaging, etc.) the investment starts at $2497 for a full visual brand identity that will keep your online presence consistent and attract your ideal client. For a shop or service that DOES need some of those things, it starts at $4997. Full signature packages with your site, social media images, everything you need for a shop or product line, it starts at $11,997. Our pricing and packages guide is available for download on our SERVICES page.
02. Can I pay in installments?
The standard payment schedule I use is 50% down to reserve your place in our calendar, 25% due when the project begins, and the last 25% at the end to schedule what we call our “wrap up” day. Here is the really cool thing about the wrap up day: it means you get your brand fast. Much faster than with most studios, and yet we do the most intensive research and development stage you will find anywhere. Speaking of time, see question 03.
Now, to answer your original question: yes. We can work together on a plan, but be aware that we can’t schedule wrap up day until you are paid in full.
03. How long will my project take?
We have a very different process here at Pure Simple Design. Frankly, because the “simple” part is missing at other studios.
Often brand identity projects will drag. It seems to be the nature of the beast. But we found a way to tame it. We will spend four weeks doing intense research and development into your brand identity. At the end of the four weeks, you will approve a concept and then reserve an entire day DEVOTED to finishing your project. This ensures that your brand will be completed on schedule, and it assures us that you will be available for feedback on your “wrap up” day.
04. Do you have other packages available other than ones listed on your services page?
05. Why should I work with a specialist?
This is a question everyone has a right to ask and get a straight answer. So I will be direct and to the point.
Did you know that 80% of shoppers will bounce from your site if it looks amateur? Working with a professional who can create a polished brand will literally retain 5 TIMES AS MANY CUSTOMERS on your website.
Did you also know that 70% of people choose where they are going to spend their money by browsing online first?
Finally, did you know you have approximately 2 seconds to make that professional impression on someone? That goes both for you site and the customer driving down the street trying to decide where to shop or eat lunch.
06. How do I know if it's the right time to make an investment like this?
If you have been in business for a couple of years, you know clearly who your market it, how you want to serve them, and how you want to “show up” with them, then you are definitely ready. If a little of that is still kind of fuzzy, chances are working together will actually help you gain that clarity (and we have ways to really focus in on those questions and help you find those answers).
If you are brand new, still unsure of what you want to do, who you want to do it for, and how you want to be perceived, it isn’t time. We have some great advice for what to do in this stage over in our BLOG.
07. What if I don't like the logo (or colors, or type)?
This is one of the number one fears with hiring a designer. After all, design is seen as kind of an “artsy, subjective” thing that is hard to measure and a little ambiguous.
Actually, though, that isn’t totally true. The principles of good design are measurable. And the mathematics of that will be something that is laid out for you in your brand book (which is a perk of every client) that will give you the specs of how your design works, why it works, and how to replicate it if need be.
Now, this doesn’t really address the biggest fear, though. That I will love something you won’t. This is why two things are important:
1. That you understand your visual branding isn’t about you, it’s about attracting the people you want to buy from you. And it takes an expert to know what will attract them. Your favorite font might be Papyrus but no designer is going to use it (and if they will, run the other way).
2. You should hire someone you trust. Because there are going to be moments when you just don’t know. It’s a little bit like going on a trip in an airplane when you aren’t a pilot. You have to sit back and trust the person flying that plane knows what they are doing. Choose an airline you trust. Choose a studio you trust.
08. What is your refund policy?
Deposits are non-refundable. I will explain why, because you deserve a straightforward answer.
Much of what you are buying when you invest in a brand studio is research, expertise, and their commitment to spend that on your brand instead of someone else’s. So when you reserve time in our schedule, we turn away other clients that want that same time.
If you cancel before the date the work commences, we will cancel the remainder of your invoice. If you cancel after, we will refund 50% of the remaining invoice. If you cancel after the “wrap up” day has been scheduled and you have made your final payment, we will not issue a refund. By that time, nearly everything is completed. This has never happened in the history of our business, but it’s important to be upfront. If we have gotten that far in the process and you feel a need to cancel, then something has gotten off track and we will work to get it back on track.
